TRUST & PROCESS

Editorial policy

How we create, test, review, and update the technical information on M3U8 Convert.

How our content is produced

Our guides are written for people converting media they own or are authorized to process. Each article starts with a real decision or failure point in the browser conversion and HLS publishing workflow. We aim to explain what the tool actually does, where it stops, and what must be checked after downloading the ZIP.

We do not publish automatically generated rewrites of unrelated articles. Similar format guides share necessary facts, but each one addresses the codec, performance, quality, and packaging questions specific to that source container.

What we test

We use local, authorized synthetic samples for MP4, MOV, WebM, and MP3. Each format is checked in Standard and Master output modes. We inspect the ZIP hierarchy, playlist paths, referenced segments, completion status, and representative playback behavior.

A successful sample does not prove that every codec, damaged file, browser, device, or very large source will work. Browser conversion remains limited by the user's CPU, memory, available storage, and browser implementation. We state those limits instead of describing local processing as infinite.

Sources and technical review

Where a guide depends on an external format or platform, we prioritize primary documentation from organizations such as Apple, AWS, and MDN. Relevant source links appear at the end of the guide so readers can verify details and account for later platform changes.

Pages show an update date and a short review note. We recheck content when the converter behavior changes, a referenced platform changes, or a reproducible correction is reported.

Corrections and updates

If you find an inaccurate step, broken reference, or repeatable converter issue, email support@m3u8convert.com. Include the page URL and enough technical detail to reproduce the issue. Do not attach private or copyrighted media that you are not authorized to share.

Editorial independence and advertising

Our technical recommendations are not sold to vendors. The site does not currently contain paid recommendations or sponsored placements. If advertising is introduced later, it will be visually separated from editorial content and will not change our testing conclusions.

Advertising platforms make their own eligibility decisions. This policy describes our process; it is not a promise of approval by any third party.
